How to price a headline (aka) TITLE in your post? It’s worth 80 cents in one Dollar.
On average, five times as many people read the headline as read the body copy. When you have written your headline, you have spent eighty cents out of your dollar.
—David Ogilvy
Now you remain only with 20 cents.
So when you look around you will not understand – what people actually are trying to discuss in their posts?
Some have only one word and some people also use #tags in the title.
I don’t think that they even get someone to read their post.
Whatever – don’t make the same mistake.
In this post, we will discuss some easy tricks to write better headlines and attract more readers.
Let’s begin.
1: – Curiosity
When you feel pain in your hand and next to you another person experiencing the same pain in his hand too.
And also there is another person who is feeling pain but not in his hand.
So in this case which person will be more close to you
- Emotionally
- Emphatically
- Etc.
So when it comes to blogging and getting more traffic the same analogy applies here.
2: – Be Specific
In today’s digital world blogging is a tool to help others and when you help others they will appreciate your work and so on.
So in your headlines, you must create curiosity by targetting a specific
- Problem
- Solution
- Information
- Answer
- Etc
When people scrolling down and see that someone is talking about pain in hand they will click and will read the rest.
This is simple – create CURIOSITY in your Title.
3:- Target Reader
Before you start writing something create an avatar of your potential readers in mind.
You don’t have to force your mind how that person will look like but you must have an idea about
- Age
- Gender
- Geographic
- Status
- Level – Begginner – Expert – etc.
- Success level
- Etc
By having this idea in mind you will be able to stick the reader from top to bottom and you can easily decrease your blog bounce rate.
You wrote the perfect Title and it getting people but the wrong people are visiting.
They look around and see – hey – it’s the wrong place – Click X.
it takes them 1 second to click X and it takes you an hour to write a post like this.
So collect general information about your readers by running a poll or engaging with them.
Also, use the tags and category the right way.
Conclusion
In a Dollar, you spend 80 percent on the headline and 20 percent on the other parts.
So make sure your headline/Title creates curiosity and your post provides the information that the readers are looking for.
I would love to hear your thoughts on the matter.
Ps. Don’t forget to share with friends.
