You need to work out how to separate yourself from other bloggers in your niche when ultimately you are providing the same information.
What will make readers come to YOUR site instead of someone else’s? There is so much to choose from, so you need to make your’s stand out.
Don’t try and copy someone else’s style either, because it will come across as being fake.
Your blogging voice needs to be consistent and it needs to be YOU. If you try and copy someone else, you will get caught out, so celebrate the ‘you’ and roll with it.
Whether you want your blogging voice to be solely professional or have a witty sense of humor, it really doesn’t matter. What matters is that you listen to your voice and you remain consistent!

Consider your life experiences
What life experiences have brought you to where you are today?
We have all undertaken different journeys and we have all got experiences we can share. No path has been the same. So why not tap into those experiences and use that in your blogging voice?
Be true to who you really are because your readers will appreciate it. Try and be someone you are not and you will soon come unstuck. Celebrate who you are and develop your own unique blogging voice. Isn’t that exciting?
You will quite often see me mention my other blog site Smart Party Planning. This is not because party planning has anything to do with blogging tips, but because it is where I started. The site is my journey and building the site taught me everything I know.
The fact that the site now has successful traffic and interaction is not the point. The point is that I divert to this site as a way of giving examples. This site helped me find my voice!
this blog is all for beginners, and those wishing to brush up on the basics. If I, a mother to a toddler and someone completely obsessed with entertaining can accomplish a successful blog, then you can too!
There is nothing that separates my initial experience in blogging from where you are now…the only difference is that I made the decision to learn and implement and now I am reaping the benefits.
Show off your personality
If you try and adhere to what you ‘ think’ readers want to hear, then you could end up missing out on readers who actually want to hear you!
If you are someone that likes to be straight down the line, no fuss, and serious all the time, then be that! Don’t let anyone stop you…if that is your blogging voice.
If on the other hand, you are someone who likes to be jovial, with a wicked sense of humor, then be that too! At the end of the day, the readers will remain on your blog for who you are.
Bloggers will not be following thousands of blogs, they will be choosing the fit that is right for them. So regardless of what your personality is, there will be readers who will love it!
Let yourself shine…this is a real opportunity to be YOU, so don’t shy away from it.

Spend some time reading other blogs in your niche. Which ones are receiving the interaction that you can connect with?
How are those bloggers showcasing their voice?
Whilst you are not going to copy them, it may help you to understand the style that you would like to convey.
Take notice of which blogs readers seem to be interacting with and those bloggers which are doing well. Whilst I say “be yourself” and “use your witty sense of humor”, in some niches you may have to tone it down a bit. You will however obtain a gauge from this when you start surfing around and you will soon find a fit that feels comfortable.
Try something new!
Whilst you are starting out in your blog, why not try new things and see what works for you. By trying out different blogging voices, so to speak, you will soon find what is more comfortable for you.
At the time of starting a new blog, your traffic levels are going to be very minimal, so why not use this time to experiment a little!
Once you find your voice and your readers start coming, that is when you need to be consistent.
However, to begin with, why not play around a little and have some fun with it.
Finding your blogging voice can be challenging, especially for inexperienced bloggers. But don’t worry, because once you find your voice you will find that it occurs naturally for you.
You will find that your blogging voice will strengthen your relationship with readers and everyone will feel more natural and at ease on your site.
